Are Cops Dying From Vaccine Reluctance?
Unfortunately, yes. And with one small but important change, the National Law Enforcement Office Memorial Fund could be doing more about it.
People are finding plenty of reasons for not wanting masks or vaccines. Of those people that harbor suspicions, or plain reluctance, the law enforcement profession has, statistically, stood out as an example. The result, inevitably: fallen officers. What could be done about it?
Just How Many Law Enforcement Officers Are Dying?
The 2020 Law Enforcement Officers Fatalities Report, produced by the National Law Enforcement Officer Memorial Fund (NLEOMF), reports a 96% increase in line-of-duty fatalities: 264 deaths in 2020 versus 135 deaths in 2019. This in itself is dramatic and alarming. But how, and why?
The report goes on to qualify that it has decided to include COVID 19 deaths as ‘line of duty deaths’. The official definition of such is:
